Michael Stewart

Michael Stewart

Television and radio training

For many years Michael was a well-known face on BBC News as a correspondent and reporter of many of the big stories of the day. He also presented BBC Radio 4's flagship morning news programme "Today" and the BBC's evening news programme "PM". He was regularly asking awkward questions of politicians and industry leaders, but is also remembered for his reports from many of the world's trouble-spots.

He has reported first hand on assassinations in India, revolutions in Europe, kidnappings in Lebanon and civil wars in Africa.

His wide experience also includes working as a Radio reporter for the BBC and for LBC and as a producer for the BBC's World Service. Michael is now MD of MTL's parent company, Campaign Television Productions Ltd.

Richard Bath

Richard Bath:

Television and radio training, corporate presentation skills

Richard is a hugely experienced news and current affairs presenter. His face is well known to millions as an ITN newscaster, and as the main news anchorman for ITV Westcountry. He has also presented Radio 4's PM programme and has been a BBC World TV international news presenter. Richard has broad experience as a political reporter . He covered the Democratic Party Convention in the States for BBC Radio as well as covering every general election here from 1979 to 2005.

Richard travelled to the border of Cambodia and Thailand to cover the refugee crisis as the Khmer Rouge were expelled from Cambodia. He has reported live from the scene of terrorist bombings here such as those in Birmingham and Hyde Park and conducted many live current affairs programmes including a major live debate with Tony Blair on the invasion of Iraq. Richard also chairs conferences for organisations such as universities, corporate bodies and has moderated a public campaign by the Home Office.

Richard is well known in the media world for his interviewing style, using his mild and pleasant manner to good effect before asking tough and difficult questions of corporate spokespeople. He can provide invaluable experience for those seeking to avoid this typical journalistic trap.

Frank Partridge

Frank Partridge:

Television, radio and print training

Frank's enormous popularity as a news broadcaster encompasses young and old alike. He is still remembered for his many years as the voice of BBC Radio 1's "Newsbeat" and went on to be a key anchorman for Sky News. He has worked at the highest level in radio, presenting BBC Radio 4's "PM" programme and LBC's afternoon drive-time show. He also worked for Radio 4 as a sports correspondent – sport is his greatest love!

His breaking of the Ben Jonson story – the sprinter who was stripped of his Olympic gold medal and world record after testing positive for drugs –is among Frank's proudest professional moments. He was one of the very few journalists to witness the release of Nelson Mandela, and his greatest claim to fame was reading the news to one of the largest-ever television audiences, 1.5 billion, during the Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium in 1985.

Frank has excellent credentials in the print media, too, having written for the Guardian, the Sunday Times, the Independent and the Illustrated London News. He also lectures in journalism at the London College of Communication.

Tony Maguire

Tony Maguire:

Crisis and reputation management skills

Tony Maguire has unrivalled experience as a professional communicator, having served on the board of high-profile public and private sector organisations in the UK and internationally – as well as working for many years at the highest levels in the media. Tony specialises in some of the toughest communications challenges. He has advised hundreds of business people on how to use the media and – critically – how to ensure their issues get on the agenda of decision-makers, particularly in Westminster and Whitehall.

He has managed the most difficult subjects in PR, having worked as a spokesman for British American Tobacco, taking part in live broadcast interviews with politicians and journalists on cigarettes and health. At London Underground - as Director of Communications - he had first-hand experience of major crises. He was in the thick of it when Jo Moore infamously sent her 'good day to bury bad news' email. He has also watched spectacular PR disasters from the other viewpoint – as Industrial Editor of the Evening Standard he watched as Gerald Ratner unwittingly brought his company to its knees with his famous "crap" speech.

Tony has trained senior executives from oil companies Texaco and Shell, including working with the latter during the infamous Brent Spar battle and has also coached big international groups, including McDonald's, BAA, Tesco, MTR Corporation, Rothmans, Blockbuster and Airbus on handling issues ranging from fast food and obesity to international aviation politics and delays in launching the A380. More recently he worked closely on the London 2012 Olympics; the building and launch of Terminal 5 and the transformation of St Pancras station.
